Performance Motion Devices, Inc. (PMD) introduces Acceleration Feed Forward to their NavigatorTM Family of Motion Processor chips. The Navigator is a software-compatible family of chip-based motion processors that provides trajectory generation, servo control, pulse and direction generation, commutation and other time-critical motion control functions. Acceleration Feed Forward is an advanced servo compensation scheme that allows for faster system responses, lower dynamic tracking errors and more efficient operation of a motor.
Chuck Lewin, VP of Marketing at PMD, comments, ”Acceleration Feed Forward is one of a number of advanced features that are now appearing in chip-based products. Historically, Acceleration Feed Forward was only available in a card or box level product, but by making it available in an IC package engineers can really save cost on their motion projects.“
Performance Motion Devices, Inc. (PMD), located in Lincoln, MA, is a pioneer in the development of chip-based motion controllers. Their NavigatorTM Family of Motion Processors is now available with Acceleration Feed Forward directly from PMD.
